In a recent post, (The Mark of the Beast Will Be Endorsed by the Church) I explained how Christian churches will still exist during the reign of the Antichrist, and will not only tolerate, but actually endorse, much of the Antichrist’s agenda. In Luke 12:42-46, Jesus confirms the fact about the existence of the church in the last days, and the church leaders refusal to serve God, in a parable of the self-seeking servant which refused to lead and feed his fellow servants. This leader-servant was pictured still denying his duties on the day that Jesus returns in judgment.
I mentioned that history repeatedly shows a tolerance of, and support for murderous leaders, by the Church, because these attackers of Christians generally target one segment of the Church at time, while the rest of the Church turns a blind eye. Because they did not feel directly affected by the evil, church leaders kept silent until it was too late.
I explained how this has been happening in America for years, where it has been illegal for churches to make political endorsements or condemnations. Church leaders, fearing the loss of a tax exempt status, have kept silent as evil people have sought control of our country, and have allowed this country to be led down a sinful God-hating path of self-destruction. They have allowed American churches to literally become nothing more than state churches, which serve the government rather than God. They have refused, and for nothing more than a tax exempt status, to follow the example of the good shepherd who didn’t just suffer inconvenience, but gave His life for His sheep (John 10:12). Concerning His unfaithful servants, Jesus said, in Matthew 24:51, that He “shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (See also- Ezekiel 34; James 3:1; Zechariah 11:17)
But, now, after beating up the Church leaders, I am going to turn around and use the same stick to beat you up. Church leaders conform to the wishes of the congregation. They try to serve both God, and the church. They are led, not only by God, but by the desires and expectations of their church members. Our church leaders are little more than a reflection of ourselves. Yes, the Church WILL endorse the Mark of the Beast (see- How to Identify the Mark of the Beast), because we have led our leaders in that direction.
We want to go to church only to hear “feel good”, “step on my toes ever so lightly” sermons. The Bible says, in 2 Timothy 4:3, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;”
We want to be lulled to sleep while we practice our “everything is OK”, “don’t worry, be happy” Christian hypocrisy. We want our church leaders to help us ignore the spiritual war waging for America’s soul. 2 Timothy 3:13 says, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”
Let’s be crystal clear- we only want to PLAY church. Approximately ¾ of Americans identify themselves as Christian, yet, our nation is anything but Christian. Mainstream media, which produces whatever sells best, and merely reflects our true nature, reeks of ungodliness. On Sunday, we claim to follow Jesus, but the rest of the week we gleefully follow Satan. 2 Timothy 3:1-6 says, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
Yes, you will accept the mark of the Beast, because you have never really given your life to Christ. Being an unfaithful believer is the same as being an unbeliever (1 Thessalonians 5:5-10). To refuse the Mark of the Beast will require you to literally give your life for Christ, yet, we haven’t even done so spiritually. The nation, which reflects our true nature, proves that we are not committed to Jesus. The media, which reflects our morals, proves that we do not follow Jesus. The Church, which reflects our spirituality, proves that we are not truly devoted to Christ.
