Along with all the many effects from the political responses to Covid-19, the pandemic basically pulled down Christian’s panties and exposed some ugly truths. The true spiritual nature of Christians, in America, has now become unmistakable.
Most Christians don’t really trust God. We completely ignore all the Old Testament rules for healthy eating, and personal hygiene. But, if some man in a white coat tells us to do something, we cling to his every word. It is now blatantly clear in who we place our trust.
Most Christians are not really committed to God. Many Christians go to church out of habit. The coronavirus was simply an excuse to get out of our routine. We quit going to church, but we continued going to other large gatherings, like grocery stores, etc. We could easily have followed the same safety standards at church that we followed everywhere else.
Most Christians go to church because we’re expected to put on a show, but when we’re told that no one is looking- shows over (Romans 16:18). Jesus called these people hypocrites.
Most Christians put man above God. When we were given the crystal clear choice of serving man or God (Acts 4:1-19; 5:17-29), most chose man. Only a few chose God and suffered for it, just like Peter and John who set the example for us. Remember, much of what Jesus did was also illegal.
It is now apparent that most Christians in America are as Jude 1:12-13 says “clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.”
